Summer Traveling Boredom Busters

With a whole bunch of summer traveling going on for TCKs around the world, we're re-publishing our list of things to do while waiting, with a new idea! Check out all our other articles on the blog for more fun things like recipes, book reviews, and so much more.

1. Card games

A simple deck of cards can turn into a 2-hour long game of fun. There are so many options to choose from: rummy,slap-jack, or solitaire if you're playing by yourself. You can use the tray tables on the backs of the seats to play, just put them up for takeoff and landing.

2. Books

A classic time-passer, books are wonderful. Unless you don't like reading. In that case, move on to the next item on the list. You can have a paperback or hardcover book, an e-reader, or an app on a device. For escaping of a machine in the air, books are perfect.

3. Word or number puzzles

Sudoku, crossword puzzles, and word searches are great for passing time, whether you're on a plane or in an airport. They can be found in many newspapers and magazines. You can buy little books full of these puzzles. A benefit of these is that you are sharpening certain brain skills and becoming smarter and more knowledgeable.

4. Write in a journal

Waiting time on planes, trains, and in lines is perfect for writing in your journal. It can be a poetry journal, doodle journal, or a classing "Dear Diary". If you have no idea how to start a journal, check out our journalling tips.
