Hey y'all! Today's article is part of the series I recently started, called "Have you ever experienced." I was 8 year old at the time of this story. Now, here it is...
One morning my Mom was drinking her coffee. She was using the mug that she always used, which was her favorite one. The next thing we knew, it was on the floor in pieces.
That day our Dad took us kids to his office. We played quietly. Jasmine (my youngest sister, who was 6 at the time) and Lewis (my only brother then, who was 4) were playing in our Dad's office chair that had wheels. One minute they were spinning in the chair, and the next, the chair lay on the floor with my two youngest siblings hurt and crying. Jasmine was on top of the chair, and Lewis was squished under her with the chair in between! You would think Lewis was the one who was injured, because he was under all that weight, but he had no scrapes or bruises! Jasmine on the other hand, had hit her head on a sharp corner right before the chair crashed. Her head was bleeding. We got our Dad and hopped in the car after giving Jasmine a cloth to put pressure on the wound. We called our Mom and told her what had happened. We picked her up before going to the hospital. Fortunately, Jasmine did not need any stitches. The doctors cleaned her wound up and gave her a bandage. After a couple of weeks her head was all healed up!
Later that day, we were putting up the cage for our new chicks. We used chicken wire to make part of the coop. Our parents asked Haven (My oldest sister, who was 10 years old then) and I to crawl into the small space where they could not fit, to fix some things. Once we had done all that was asked of us, both of us crawled out. When Haven made it out she scraped her arm on the chicken wire! Her arm was bleeding. Our parents left us at home with a friend of theirs while they hurried to the hospital with Haven. A few hours later they came home. Haven had gotten stitches in her arm. She was fine after that and now she has a scar to tell about it.
