Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Mug

Hi everyone! You might have read some articles from one of our writers, Jason. He had to take a break due to personal matters, so I am filling in for him until he is able to write again.

Today I have a recipe for you. Now, I don’t know about you guys, but sometimes I crave a night-time sweet treat. This is an easy recipe that doesn’t take a lot of time to prepare, freeze, or bake. I’ve seen several recipes for mug cakes, cookies, meals and more. So I put together a recipe from information gathered from other recipes and from also from things I did wrong (basically experiments). So please enjoy this chocolate chip mug cookie.

Ingredients

1/4 cup Flour

2 tbsp Brown Sugar

1/4 tsp Baking Powder (you can use more, maybe about 1/2 tsp if you want it to rise more and be more fluffier)

2-3 tbsp Milk

1/2 tsp Vanilla

1/2 tbsp Oil

Chocolate Chips (as much as you want)

Egg yolk (This will make your cookie chewier, you do not have to use the whole egg yolk)

Directions

Mix all the ingredients together in mug or a ramekin (the little white soufflé bowls). If you want, you can mix the dry ingredients and then add the wet ingredients, but it doesn’t really matter. When pouring the milk in, start with 2 tbsp, then once you’ve stirred all the ingredients check if it’s too thick and add in more milk. For a mug cake, the mixture is usually runnier than if you're baking cookies. If you do decide to add in the egg, mix it very well so the egg doesn’t just cook. You don’t have to measure everything out very precisely, play around with it, make thicker or runnier, or however you please. Once you’re happy with the mixture, place it in the microwave for a minute to start out with. The time you put it in more may depend on the microwave. I like to put it in for a minute and twenty seconds to start with, but usually end up putting in for 15-20 more seconds. So, start with a minute and poke the cookie with a fork to see if you need more time. I like to sprinkle a few more chocolate chips on top and put it in for a little longer, but it’s up to you. Enjoy!
