Encouraging Friends
Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing some easy ways to encourage your friends and other people around you. A lot of us are getting tired of not knowing what's coming next, of doing online school, or of staying at home all the time. It gets really easy to take our our frustrations on other people and we often don't feel encouraged. Everyone is going through a lot right now, and we should be supporting one another. These are some ways that you can encourage your friends and family and boost people's spirits.
Share the Sugar
Bake something to share with your loved ones! We bake a ton in my family, and even if it doesn't resolve conflicts, it gives us a moment to relax and enjoy a treat. It boosts everyone's spirits and just generally makes us a bit happier.
Send a Card
Cheer up someone by sharing some kind words with them! You can make a handmade card or get one from a store and mail it to someone. You can make a card and put it on a family member's pillow. There's also lots of platforms on the internet where you can send e-cards.
Listen
Listening is one of the most important things you can do to support and encourage someone. Listen to their problems, their happy moments, everything. People often just want to feel heard and listened to.
Give Compliments
Compliments help a person feel better about themselves and situations that they are in, even if it's totally not related to whatever's happening. Compliment a parent's cooking, or your friend's cool skill at something. Compliments show that you love someone and that you are paying attention to them and what they do. What's a better way to encourage someone and cheer them up?
Reach Out
This is one of the most important ones on this list. Reach out to your friends and family and check on how they're doing. See how they're doing mentally and encourage them to keep up with their physical help as well. Ask them if there's anything you can do for them to help out.
I hope that you use some of these ideas to encourage your family and friends and check in with them to see how they're doing during these times. It's always great to be more encouraging to other people. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, email us at tcktimes@gmail.com.
