Hey everyone! It's the very beginning of 2021, and lots of people like to set New Year's resolutions or goals for the new year at the beginning of January. Typically, these resolutions are set on improving ourselves and often include physical goals, goals for reading or school, goals for mental health, and lots of other things. Today I'm giving you some ideas for goals and also giving some tips on making sure these goals are healthy. I have another article on goal setting which has more tips, so make sure to check that out!
So I typically have a few different sections for my New Year's Resolutions, and the main ones are usually physical, spiritual, educational, and mental/self. Other sections can include arts, financial, and relational. One huge tip I have for you is to not set too many goals because then you may feel like you have too much to do and can't do it all. Set goals with times on them. For example, "work out 2 times every week" is a much better goal than "work out more" because it's more specific and achievable. I'm going to share some ideas for resolutions that TCKs can use. These are all examples, and more resolutions than I would advise one person to have.
PHYSICAL
- work out _ times per week
- drink 3L of water per day
- sleep _ hours per night
- run _ miles per week
SPIRITUAL
- read the Bible every day
- start a prayer journal
EDUCATIONAL
- get an A in _____ class
- read __ books per month
FINANCIAL
- save x amount of money per month
ARTS
- be able to play __ number of songs on an instrument
- practice drawing x times per week
RELATIONAL
- make a card for someone each month
- do an act of kindness every day
MENTAL/SELF
- journal every other day
- go outside for __ minutes every day
- start a gratitude journal
These are all ideas I've come up with, but there are ideas all over the internet and you can always come up with your own ideas. Email us at tcktimes@gmail.com if you have any questions or suggestions or if there's anything else you'd like to share with us.
